BioShield utilizes a three part approach in anti-microbial combat: a powerful disinfectant, light-activated coating and electrostatic application.
BioShield uses an EPA
registered hospital grade disinfectant cleaner with heavy duty mold and odor
control. This unique disinfectant contains a special form of chlorine dioxide
combined with other agents to selectively oxidize harmful organisms. The unique
composition is an ecologically sound alternative that is colorless, low odor
and will not harm hard or soft surfaces, colorfast fabrics, or skin. BioShield
uses a disinfectant with chlorine dioxide, which has the same powerful bacteria
fighting properties of bleach, without the harmful by-products. The broad
spectrum anti-microbial eradicates 99.999% of bacteria, kills H1N1, Norovirus,
Hep B & C, HIV, Legionella, MRSA and eliminates strong odors on a molecular
level.
The innovative coating used by BioShield Services is a nano mineral
photocatalyst activated by UV or interior light. It is non-toxic and contains
only food safe (“Green”) ingredients, completely safe for humans, pets and the
environment. Ideal for interior and exterior use, this long-lasting coating can
be applied to new or existing surfaces. The carefully engineered minerals
possess several other unique and beneficial properties. A BioShield coated
surface is hydrophilic in light, enabling it to sheet water off instead of
beading, lifting dirt, oils and contaminants from the substrate. Surfaces
become “self-cleaning” with rain or washing and will dry faster.
The
electrostatic sprayers used to apply the disinfection and coating agents create
a fine mist, with droplets 900 times smaller than those produced by
conventional sprayers. After the tiny droplets are given an electrical charge
at the tip of the spray nozzle, they travel in a turbulent air-stream until
reaching the target. The charge on the droplets, though small, pulls the spray
toward the target at 75 times the force of gravity. The spray droplets
literally reverse direction and move upwards, against gravity, when passing a
surface. The remarkable phenomenon by which the spray is able to coat the
underside and backsides of the target is known as electrostatic “wraparound.”
